2020/21 National League season delayed until January
The 2020/21 National League season will not start before January following the latest announcement from the Rugby Football Union.
RFU CEO Bill Sweeney: “Our community rugby clubs are under threat”
Fans may not to be able to return to watch live sport in England until the end of March at the earliest and RFU CEO Bill Sweeney has stated this could have “severe consequences for Rugby Union at all levels.”

After moving into Stage D on the Return to Rugby Roadmap on Tuesday, the RFU have announced there will be no competitive full contact rugby in October unless there is a dramatic improvement in the prevalence of Covid-19 in the community.

Return to Rugby Roadmap moves into Stage D after limited contact training approved
National League clubs will be able to begin limited and restricted contact rugby training as well as organise inter-club non-contact fixtures after the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport approved a move from Stage C to Stage D in The Return to Community Rugby Roadmap.
